Lancaster JetHawks News Release

(LANCASTER, CA) - Two of the Mavericks coaches are former JetHawks coaches, but they long ago learned not to expect preferential treatment from this group of JetHawks. Lancaster swatted four home runs, three of them for three runs each, and pounded the Mavericks 15-8 Tuesday night at Clear Channel Stadium. The JetHawks have now beaten the Mavericks in 12 of the 14 meetings between the two teams this season.

The fourth inning proved to be the difference, as the JetHawks set a season single-inning high with nine hits, leading to nine runs in the inning. Three of their home runs came in that lone inning, starting with Brad Correll's solo homers, followed by three-run shots from Tony Granadillo and Mark Wagner.

Wagner had his second career day of the season against High Desert. For the second time against the Mavericks he pounded four hits and drove in six runs. Aaron Bates, coming off the disabled list after missing 15 games with a sprained ankle, added three hits, as did Scott White and Christian Lara.

John Barnes picked up the win, balancing his record at 4-4. Ismael Casillas pitched two and 2/3 scoreless innings to close the game.

The JetHawks continue a three-game homestand Wednesday night against the High Desert Mavericks. The JetHawks starter will be Mike Rozier (4-6, 7.15) while the Mavericks go with Marwin Vega (3-6, 5.47). The game starts at 7:00 PM and will be broadcast on radio at Magic 1340 AM, as well as on internet at www.JetHawks.com. The JetHawks Clubhouse Show airs at 5 PM with special guests including JetHawks manager Chad Epperson.

It will be a Weenie Wednesday at the ballpark. Hebrew National hot dogs will cost just $1 each.

Great tickets for most JetHawks home games are available now. Contact the JetHawks box office by phone at (661) 726-5400 or online at www.JetHawks.com.
