New Orleans Baby Cakes News Release
The New Orleans Zephyrs defeated the visiting Tacoma Rainiers on Tuesday by a score of 4-2 in 12 innings.
Right fielder Jesus Feliciano hit a walk-off two-run homer in the 12th inning to deliver the Zephyrs a victory. Feliciano went 2-5 in the game overall.
The other Zephyrs runs also came off of a two-run home run, the first time in the fourth inning off of the bat of left fielder David Newhan. Newhan also was 2-5 with two RBI.
Relief pitcher Willie Collazo (3-5) gets the win after shutting out the Rainiers and giving up only two hits in the final 3.1 innings of play.
Tacoma reliever Kameron Mickolio (2-3) records a loss after giving up four runs and the Feliciano homer in three innings of relief.
The win gets the Zephyrs off to a 1-0 lead in the four-game home series. The teams will face off again on Wednesday in a game scheduled for 7:00 PM CT.
