Dillas Acquire Chitwood from Aces

ALEXANDRIA, LA - The Amarillo Dillas announced today the signing of right-handed pitcher Josh Chitwood from the Alexandria Aces for a player to be named later. The Dillas also announced the release of right-handed pitcher Clay Jessee.

The 6'4," 240 pound native of Kilgore, Texas joins the Dillas in the midst of his rookie season. He was acquired by the Aces from San Angelo on June 12th to complete a trade made on May 31st. Chitwood attended Texas College in Tyler, Texas before being signed by the Colts in the offseason. He went 1-0 with a 3.18 ERA for the Colts before going 0-0 with a 5.00 ERA with the Aces.

He is probable to pitch in the current four-game series against the Aces. The Dillas welcome him to the organization.

Tuesday, the Dillas will be taking on Alexandria for the second game of a four-game series at 7:05 pm with Dillas Pre-Game set to begin at 6:50 pm on 1010 AM The Canyon and online via AudioSportsOnline.com. Game time is tentative and is subject to blackout.

The Amarillo Dillas Baseball Club is a member of United League Baseball, an independent league of six professional baseball teams located in Texas and Louisiana. The United League is preparing for its second season this summer with teams located in Amarillo, Edinburg, Laredo, Harlingen, and San Angelo, Texas; and Alexandria, Louisiana. The ULB will play a 100-game schedule between May and August 2007.
