Nashville Sounds News Release
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Right-hander Chris Oxspring, who currently ranks third in the Pacific Coast League with a 3.56 ERA in 18 starts for the Nashville Sounds this season, had his contract sold by the Milwaukee Brewers this morning to the LG Twins in the Korean Baseball League.
Oxspring, 30, was slated to serve as the PCL's starting pitcher in Wednesday's Triple-A All-Star Game but will fly to Seoul, Korea to join his new team instead.
The Australian posted a 7-5 record to go along with his 3.56 ERA (38er/96.0ip) in his 18 Nashville starts. He ranked second among PCL hurlers with 106 strikeouts this season, trailing only former teammate and current Milwaukee Brewer Yovani Gallardo.
Oxspring worked seven scoreless frames on Sunday at Oklahoma to earn a victory in his final Sounds outing. A move to fill his roster spot in Nashville will be announced before the Sounds resume play on Thursday at Greer Stadium following the All-Star break.
