Carolina Mudcats News Release

Chattanooga, TN --- Grant Psomas homered twice to lead an 18-hit assault as the Carolina Mudcats pounded the Chattanooga Lookouts 10-5 on Monday night at AT&T Field.

Psomas, who had not homered since June 4th when he went deep twice in Montgomery, hit two homers and drove in a career-high five runs with a career-best five hits. Psomas singled three times during his 5-5 night. Frank Moore clubbed an opposite-field home run, while Chase Lambin took reliever Justin Mallett into the right field bleachers for the second time in three nights. Every Mudcat starter had at least one hit, with reliever Craig Molldrem collecting his first professional hit.

Carolina (7-8) won its fifth straight, and moved to within two games of the Northern Division lead, dropping the Lookouts into a first-place tie with Tennessee. The Mudcats have beaten the Lookouts 12 of 18 games with Tuesday night's game marking the final meeting of the regular season.

Jesus Delgado worked 4 1/3 innings in his first start since June 16th. Delgado was activated from the disabled list prior to Monday's game. Molldrem (W, 4-3) earned the win with 2 1/3 innings, permitting two runs.

The Mudcats close out the road trip on Tuesday night at 6:15 PM ET with Chris Seddon pitching opposite Sam Lecure at AT&T Field.
