Colorado Rapids News Release

COMMERCE CITY, CO (June 29, 2007) - The Colorado Rapids announced today that the club's annual July 4th game is officially sold out, becoming the first in a series of high-profile matches throughout the month of July that are expected to quickly reach capacity, and fans are encourage to get their tickets now for these events while supplies last.

The Rapids' match vs. the Columbus Crew, which is part of the 2007 "4thFest Colorado" festival being hosted by the Rapids and Commerce City at Dick's Sporting Goods Park, sold out with 5 days to go before the game.

In addition to the Rapids' match, 4thFest Colorado will feature a free all-day festival starting at 2pm on Independence Day, which includes live bands, sports activities on the stadium complex's fields, an interactive kids zone with a stage and family activities, a beer garden, and food vendors, all leading up to the Rapids game at 7:30pm, which will be followed by the biggest and best fireworks display in the state of Colorado.

This year's fireworks show, taking place at Dick's Sporting Goods Park for the first time, will be bigger and better than any of the shows set up by the Rapids in past years downtown. The location of Dick's Sporting Goods Park frees the club to put on a pyrotechnics show that will have none of the noise or shell size restrictions that other shows in downtown Denver areas must adhere to, making this show the biggest and most explosive in the state this year.

Although the Rapids game itself is sold out, fans can still come to the free all-day festival, and experience the fireworks show from the stadium's field complex. For more details on all the day's events, fans can visit the official website of the event, www.4thFestColorado.com

Tickets are still available for the next Rapids home game after July 4, taking place next Sunday, July 8th at 6pm vs. Juan Pablo Angel, Clint Mathis, and the rest of the high-flying New York Red Bulls. The Rocky Mountain News Rapids Family Night package will be available for this match, featuring 4 tickets, 4 hot dogs, and 4 sodas starting at only $69.
