Louisville, KY- Blaine Boyer and two relievers combined on a six-hitter as visiting Richmond blanked Louisville, 6-0 Tuesday at Louisville Slugger Field.

Boyer (1-0) gave up three hits and three walks with three strikeouts over five innings. Jeff Bennett yielded three hits and struck out two in three frames and Rich Scalamandre tossed a perfect ninth to seal Richmond's International League-leading 10th shutout. The Braves also top the circuit with a 3.29 ERA.

Graham Koonce went 3-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI to pace the 13-hit attack for Richmond (44-32). Doug Clark clubbed a two-run homer, his fifth, and Corky Miller hit a pair of RBI doubles. Bats starter Tom Shearn (3-6) surrendered four runs on nine hits and three walks with three strikeouts over five innings. Anderson Machado had two hits for Louisville (40-38).

The Braves and Bats square off again Wednesday at 12:05 PM. Jo-Jo Reyes will pitch for Richmond against Bobby Livingston. The Braves return to The Diamond July 4.
