Fisher Cats Extend Record Streak Of Standing-Room-Only Crowds

Manchester, NH- The New Hampshire Fisher Cats, Double-A Eastern League affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays, established a franchise-record seventh consecutive standing-room only crowd of 6,831 at Merchantsauto.com Stadium Monday night against the Portland Sea Dogs, Double-A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox. Prior to this seven-game stretch, which has drawn 51,763 fans to Manchester, the Fisher Cats had never recorded more than three straight standing-room-only crowds, a feat accomplished only once in team history -June 16-18, 2006 against Portland.

In all, the Fisher Cats have set five different attendance records since June 15.

"I want to thank our hard-working staff and our fans for this phenomenal stretch," said Fisher Cats President/General Manager Rick Brenner. "They're the ones who deserve the credit for creating this amazing start to our summer schedule."

The four-game weekend series with Portland drew a total of 29,642 fans, shattering the previous four-game series record of 25,326 set July 7-10, 2006 against Portland.

During this stretch, the Fisher Cats set the all-time single-game attendance record of 8,227 on Saturday, June 16 and added the second and third largest crowds in team history: 8,067 vs Portland (June 23) and 7,837 vs Portland (June 24).

The back-to-back crowds totaling 15,904 June 23-24 vs the Sea Dogs broke the all-time record set June 15-16 when 15,558 fans attended consecutive games against the Erie SeaWolves, Double-A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers.

The 22,121 fans who attended the Erie series June 15-17 set an all-time record for a three-game series.
