Pelicans to Host Ribbon Cutting Ceremony Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.

MYRTLE BEACH, SC - The Myrtle Beach Pelicans (A/Atlanta Braves) and the Myrtle Beach Chamber of Commerce will be holding a special ribbon cutting ceremony to unveil a number of new improvements and upgrades to Coastal Federal Field on Wednesday, June 27 at 4:30 p.m.

The event, which is part of a grand re-opening day at the ballpark, will be held outside the main gate between the new ticket office and the playground on the first base side of Coastal Federal Field. Members of the media planning to attend this unique ribbon cutting event are respectfully requested to RSVP by calling Shellene May at 918-6077 by Noon on Wednesday. The Pelicans will be providing light snacks as well as beverages.

"We are pleased to open yet another positive improvement to Coastal Federal Field that will enhance the experience for every fan," said Pelicans General Manager North Johnson. "We invite all media and fans to get a first-hand look at these new additions, as we continually strive to make Pelicans baseball the best entertainment value on the Grand Strand."

Over the last year, Coastal Federal Field has undergone a series of capital improvements including a new state-of-the-art videoboard, a unique "beach" seating area, a visible visiting bullpen, and the addition of flat screen televisions throughout the ballpark, which display a closed circuit broadcast of each home game.
