Robinzon Diaz Selected To All-Star Futures Game

New Hampshire Fisher Cats News Release


Manchester, NH- The New Hampshire Fisher Cats, Double-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays, are proud to announce that catcher Robinzon Diaz has been named to the World Team All-Stars for the 2007 XM Satellite All-Star Futures Game.

The Futures Game is slated for 4pm on Sunday, July 8 at San Francisco's AT & T Park, site of the Major League All-Star Game

Diaz, a member of the Blue Jays' 40-man roster, leads the Fisher Cats with 67 hits and ranks 10th in the Eastern League with a .313 AVG. The 23-year old native of the Dominican Republic has hit safely in 13 of his last 14 games, going 24-for-57 (.421) during that span.

Former Fisher Cat Aaron Hill was the Most Valuable Player of the 2004 All-Star Futures Game in Houston, TX. Left-handed pitcher Zach Jackson (2005) also represented the Fisher Cats at the 2005 All-Star Futures Game in Detroit, MI.

Diaz and the Fisher Cats return to Merchantsauto.com Stadium Friday night at 7:05pm to begin a four-game series with the Portland Sea Dogs, Double-A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox.
