Lynx Drop Marathon
June 19, 2007 - International League (IL1)
Ottawa Lynx News Release
Toledo got an early start on a long game, scoring once in the top of the first inning. Then Lynx starter J.A. Happ and Hens pitcher Virgil Vasquez went to work, holding both teams scoreless until the seventh, when the skies opened up for a 1:05 rain delay.
After a scoreless top half of the seventh, Joe Thurston led off the home half of the inning with a single, moving to second on Jason Jaramillo's sacrifice bunt before Brennan King drove him home with an RBI single.
The Lynx and Mud Hens bullpens combined to keep both teams off the board until Toledo broke the tie with a run in the top of the 12th on a bases-loaded walk. Ottawa couldn't push the tying run across the plate in the bottom of the 12, falling 2-1 to Toledo.
