Chicago Fire FC News Release

BRIDGEVIEW, IL (June 19, 2007) - Chicago Fire Soccer is proud to present Faith and Family Night at TOYOTA PARK on Sunday, July 1, as the Fire face the Colorado Rapids in their only regular season meeting in Chicagoland (6:00 p.m. CT, Comcast SportsNet). Following the match will be a stage performance by Christian vocal group The Katinas. All donations made during the post-game performance will go toward the Nothing But Nets campaign, which helps supply protective mosquito bed netting in an effort to prevent the spread of malaria.

Fire midfielder Diego Gutierrez has been a vocal team leader in the battle against malaria. Major League Soccer joined the effort against malaria through its community outreach initiative - MLS W.O.R.K.S. - collaborating with the Nothing But Nets and Malaria No More campaigns. For more information on malaria awareness and how to donate, log on to www.NothingButNets.net or www.malariaNOMORE.org.

Fans attending the game on July 1 can enjoy the pre-game interactive Faith Festival starting at 4:30 p.m. CT, just inside gate B, including live performances by former American Idol finalist Brooke Barrettsmith and Christian ska band, "Hook Line and Sinker."

"Chicago Fire games have always been a great event for families to enjoy a night out," said Chicago Fire Marketing Director Dan Parise. "With the Faith and Family Night theme, along with The Katinas performing after the game, we feel have raised the bar for family-friendly entertainment here at TOYOTA PARK."

Corner kick tickets for Faith and Family night are on sale now for $25, with proceeds benefiting both the Nothing But Nets and MLS Works efforts. Fans interested in purchasing tickets can call 888.MLS.FIRE or visit the TOYOTA PARK box office during the hours of 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. CT. Tickets are also available at all Ticketmaster phones, outlets, and by visiting the website at www.ticketmaster.com.

About The Katinas

Samoa-born brothers Sam, Joe, Jesse, John, and James-collectively known as The Katinas-do nothing less than set the standard for five individuals singing with one unshakeable voice. With a vocal blend honed by siblings singing since birth, The Katinas utilize their synergistic bonds to stretch pop music beyond any of its present borders. To date, the brothers claim eight Dove Award nominations, including a Dove Award win for their contribution to 1999's compilation, Exodus. In addition, The Katinas have landed two ASCAP Awards, and four #1 radio hits. Likewise, they've shared stages with Quincy Jones, Gladys Knight, Kenny Rogers, Michael McDonald, Bill Gaither, Andrae Crouch, and Vince Gill, and appeared on such nationally televised events as the Billy Graham Crusade, CMT's September 11 Memorial, Monday Night Football, and the sports fan's dream, singing at the Garden before a Knicks game.
