TODAY'S GAME: Tonight, the Buffalo Bisons host the Louisville Bats in the second game of a four-game series from Dunn Tire Park (7:05 p.m.). The Bisons hope to rebound after a tough 6-5 loss to Louisville on Monday night. On the hill tonight for the Herd will be LHP Aaron Laffey. Laffey is coming off three straight wins and has allowed just two earned runs in his last three starts. Louisville will counter with LHP Jason Kershner.

VS. THE BATS: This is the second and final regular season series between the Bats and Bisons this year. The Herd split a four-game set in Louisville, May 24-27. Since rejoining the IL in 1998, Buffalo is 42-35 against Louisville (.553 winning percentage).

HE'S NO JOKE: LHP Aaron Laffey has made four straight quality starts. After a complete-game loss in Indy on May 28, he has won three consecutive games. In those victories, he has allowed just three runs (two earned) in 17.0 innings pitched (1.06ERA). Laffey is coming off his best outing as he limited Richmond to just two hits in six shutout innings last Tuesday (1BB, 6K).

EVERY DAY HITTER: Outfielder Jonathan Van Every has made his presence felt on the team. Promoted from Akron on June 10, Van Every has hit .381 (8-21) with a triple, two home runs and five walks in eight games. He enters tonight's game on a five-game hit streak where he has averaged .438 (7-16).

MILLER TIME: Reliever Matt Miller has been lights out for the Herd. He has not been scored on in his last 11 appearances out of the bullpen (10.0IP). During the stretch, he has allowed just five hits and four walks while striking out 17 batters. On the year, Miller is 0-0 with a 3.21ERA in 15 appearances.

ALWAYS ON: Infielder Ryan Mulhern has reached base in 14 of his last 15 games. Since June 3, he has hit .348 (16-49) with five doubles, two home runs, seven RBI and three walks.

CHART UPDATE: Ben Francisco is 5th in the IL in average (.329), 3rd in hits (79), 7th in doubles (18) and T7th runs scored (39). Ryan Mulhern is T7th in home runs (10), T9th in RBI (40), T4th in doubles (20), 5th in extra-base hits (31) and 6th in slugging percentage (.540). Reliever Edward Mujica is 4th in the IL in saves (11).
