Dayton Dragons News Release

Dayton, OH - The Cincinnati Reds have swapped players on the Dayton Dragons roster as RHP Jordan Smith joins the club from the Billings Mustangs just four days after being reassigned. To make room for Smith, the Reds have reassigned RHP Terrell Young to the Billings Mustangs of the Pioneer League. Also, LHP Eddie Guardado will make his third rehab appearance for the Dragons in tonight's game.

Smith was reassigned to Billings on Saturday, June 9th after being in the starting rotation for the entire season. Since he was gone for only four days, Smith will be making his regularly scheduled start in the ballgame this evening against the South Bend Silver Hawks at Fifth Third Field. In 12 starts for Dayton this season, Smith is 4-4 with a 3.46 ERA.

Young rejoined the Dragons for his second stint with the club Saturday, but struggled in his two appearances for the Miami Valley's team. In his first outing, Young took the loss after pitching 0.1 innings, allowing a walk that eventually scored a run. Tuesday night against the Lansing Lugnuts, Young failed to get an out as he walked three and gave up two hits. All five runners eventually scored, ballooning Young's ERA to 162.00 on the season.
