Edmonton Elks News Release

(Edmonton) The Edmonton Eskimos have traded rookie import wide receiver Patrick Johnson to the Toronto Argonauts in exchange for the second round pick in the 2008 CFL Canadian Draft that Toronto acquired from Edmonton as part of a trade provision when OL Glen Carson (traded to Toronto in a deal with Edmonton earlier this year) did not report for training camp. The Argos will retain Carson's playing rights.

The Eskimos open the 2007 pre-season Friday, June 15th in Calgary. Edmonton hosts BC on Thursday, June 21st at Commonwealth Stadium.

The Edmonton Eskimo Football Club is one of the most successful teams in CFL history with 13 Grey Cup championships and a North American pro-sports record of 34 consecutive years in the playoffs. A community-owned team, the Eskimos pride themselves on giving back to the community that has supported the organization throughout its illustrious history.
