Express first baseman Mark Saccomanno smacked a pair of home runs and snapped the Zephyrs three game win streak on Monday night winning 5-3. The high powered Zephyrs offense scored 46 runs in their last three games were cooled off to just three runs by Round Rock. The Express used four pitchers and starter Josh Miller pitched six innings earning his first career Triple A win and Paul Estrada pitched the eighth and ninth to earn his sixth save of the season. New Orleans scored a pair of runs early leading 2-0 but Saccomanno's home runs were too much to overcome.
Game Notes: Zephyr left fielder Chip Ambres extended his hit streak to nine games and was named PCL Hitter of the week earlier in the day ... Outfielder Ben Johnson rejoined the team from the Mets and finished 0x5 in the game. .. The win by the Express extends their home winning streak to six consecutive against the Z's dating back to last June... Former Z Brandon Watson extended Triple A baseball's longest hit streak of the season as he has a hit in 37 consecutive games for the Columbus Clippers.
Coming Up: The Zephyrs (33-32) and Round Rock Express (30-34) play Tuesday at 7PM. New Orleans will start LH Adam Bostick (2-5) against LH Phil Barzilla (6-3) Radio: WIST AM 690.
