Sounds Return Home Friday For Week Of Games

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Nashville Sounds return home to Greer Stadium on Friday night to begin a seven-game homestand. The Sounds will play a four-game series against the division-rival Omaha Royals (AAA-Royals) followed by an off day on Tuesday then a three-game series against the division-rival Iowa Cubs (AAA-Cubs).

The homestand opener against the Royals is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Fans are invited to stay after the game for a spectacular fireworks show presented by Your Select Buick-Pontiac-GMC Dealers. Gates will open at 5:30 p.m.

On Saturday, gates open at 4:30 p.m. and the first 2,000 fans through the turnstiles will receive a free commemorative 30th Anniversary player art print courtesy of First Tennessee. The first pitch is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. and fans are invited to stay for a fireworks show beginning immediately after the conclusion of the game, presented by Your Select Buick-Pontiac-GMC Dealers.

Sunday is Father's Day and the Sounds are inviting all fathers and their children in attendance to play catch on the field before the game. Father's Day participants are invited to throw on the field from 5:15 until 5:40. The Sounds will be providing baseballs, but participants must supply their own gloves.

Gates open at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday and the first 2,000 fans to enter will receive a free 2007 Sounds team photo, courtesy of Scott. Sunday is also Scout Day at Greer Stadium and Middle Tennessee Boy and Girl Scout Troops are invited to participate in an on-field parade before the game.

Every Sunday home game during the 2007 season is Purity Sundae Sunday. Purity Dairies will be providing ice cream sundaes for only $1 during the entire game. Sunday's first pitch is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.

On Monday, the Sounds wrap up their series against the Royals with a noon matinee. Gates will open at 10:30 a.m. It will be Day Camp Day at Greer Stadium and the Sounds are inviting all day campers and counselors throughout the Middle Tennessee area to Greer Stadium. Every Monday home game during the 2007 season is also H.G. Hill Monday. All fans who present an H.G. Hill receipt at the Sounds box office will receive a buy-one, get-one free ticket offer for up to four (4) tickets.

The Sounds join the entire PCL American Conference for an off day on Tuesday before they begin their three-game series against the Cubs with a 7 p.m. series opener on Wednesday evening.

On Thursday, the gates will open at 5:30 p.m. and fans are invited to attend a free concert courtesy of the Miller Lite Concert Series. Local band Delilah Why will be playing a one-hour concert prior to the 7:00 first pitch. Every Thursday home game during the 2007 season is Thirsty Thursday and all draft beverages are only $1 throughout Greer Stadium until 8:30 p.m. or the end of the 5th inning, whichever comes first.

The homestand wraps up on Friday evening when Sounds fans are invited to participate in Purity Faith Night. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. Local Christian band Denver and the Mile High Orchestra will be at Greer to perform a one-hour concert prior to the 7:00 first pitch.

Formed at Belmont University in Nashville, Denver and the Mile High Orchestra is the only nationally marketed Christian music group with the big band style. DMHO brings many elements to their music. They bring together musical styles of the late 20's and 30's swing and jazz, along with modern day R&B, Latin and Dixieland. With main musical influences being Harry Connick Jr., Brian Setzer, and Frank Sinatra, the music is enjoyed across generations. The group's most recent release is a live album titled Live! It Up.

Sounds fans are invited to stay for a firework show immediately following the conclusion of Friday's game, courtesy of Your Select Buick-Pontiac-GMC Dealers.

Following the homestand, the Sounds will leave for a seven-game road trip that includes series against the Round Rock Express (AAA-Astros) and the Albuquerque Isotopes (AAA-Marlins). Baseball returns to Greer Stadium on Saturday, June 30.
