Edmonton Oil Kings News Release

The Edmonton Oil Kings have added a significant piece to their management team with the hiring of a new Assistant General Manager and Director of Player Personnel today. Randy Hansch comes to the Oil Kings from the Kamloops Blazers, where he worked as the Director of Player Personnel for the past 15 years.

"We're extremely fortunate to have Randy joining the Oil Kings management team, as he brings a lot of experience to the table," said Bob Green, General Manager of the Edmonton Oil Kings. "Randy is considered one of the top scouts in the WHL, and we'll be counting on him to help craft the Oil Kings into a WHL powerhouse."

"I'm very excited about joining the Edmonton Oil Kings team, and working with Bob Green on developing a winning team," said Randy Hansch. "This is a great opportunity to help build a team from the ground up."

Randy began his hockey career as a goalie with the Victoria Cougars of the WHL. He was drafted by the Detroit Red Wings in the 1984 NHL Entry Draft (6th round, 112th overall), and tended net for the Adirondack Wings of the AHL. He moved to Kamloops as Director of Player Personnel for the WHL Blazers, and assisted the team in winning two Memorial Cups. He has also acted as a part-time scout for the Calgary Flames and Tampa Bay Lightning.
