PREVIOUS DAY RECAP: The GreenJackets (34-17) finished their eight game road trip with a 7-6 loss in 10 innings to the Lexington Legends (23-28) on Monday night. Closer Juan Trinidad suffered his first blown save of the year and Rob Grace recorded the loss in relief allowing the winning run to score. Grace allowed a lead off base hit to Eric Taylor in the 10th then issued a one out walk and an RBI single to Cesar Quintero for the walk-off loss. Augusta erased leads of 1-0 and 4-2 taking a 6-4 lead into the bottom of the ninth. Dayton Buller had a solo home run and Bobby Felmy had a three-run homer in the loss. Starter Kevin Pucetas worked six innings allowing one run on four hits for the no decision.

BLOWN SAVE: Closer Juan Trinidad suffered his first blown save of the year in 10 opportunities. Trinidad had not allowed a hit to a right-handed batter all year, a span of 22 at bats, however in the ninth two right handers connected for doubles, one of which was a two-run double to tie the game.

IN A PINCH: Matt Weston appeared as a pinch hitter in the 10th inning a popped out to the shortstop, ending his eight game hit streak. Weston was 9-for- 33 (.272) with three home runs, seven RBIs, a double and eight runs scored over the streak. It was Weston's second eight game hit streak of the season with the last coming on May 10-18.

BIG STICKS IN MAY: The GreenJackets have hit 13 home runs in the month of May, eight better than the total in April. However, the production numbers are down in May with Augusta batting 22 points lower, 20 less runs scored, 21 less stolen bases and strikeouts have increased by 20.

THAT'S A FIRST: The GreenJackets suffered their first loss of the season when they were leading after eight innings. Augusta had been a perfect 29-0 before last nights' blown save in the ninth.

NORTHERN TOUR: Augusta is currently 7-5 against the Northern Division going 4-4 on their recent road trip. The GreenJackets opened the road trip with two straight wins against the Power, the top team in the Northern Division.

TUESDAY'S IN ‘07: The GreenJackets are 3-3 in 2007 when playing on Tuesday's. Augusta is coming off a win on its last Tuesday game, a 4-3 winner in 10 innings over the West Virginia Power.

PLAYOFF RACE: The GreenJackets fell back into a two-way tie for first place in the Southern Division, sharing the top spot with Columbus. The Asheville Tourists are a half game back in the division. With 19 more games left in the half to clinch a playoff spot and the GreenJackets play 15 games against teams with records above .500. The Catfish play 11 games against teams below the .500 mark while Asheville has 12 games against teams below the .500 mark.

PLAYOFF BREAKDOWN: Augusta will face four different teams down the stretch while Asheville and Columbus will face three. The combined record for the teams Augusta will face is 102-100. The combined record for the teams Asheville will face is 77-73 and for Columbus it 64-87.

Tonight's Probables

AUG: RHP Adam Cowart (7-3, 1.98) vs. GBO: RHP Derell McCall (2-4, 4.47)

WHAT'S ON TAP: The GreenJackets return home tonight and turn to right-hander Adam Cowart as Augusta looks to remain in first place. Cowart will try for a third time to record his eighth win of the season, dropping his last two decisions in a row. Cowart is ranked eighth in the SAL and fifth in the Giants organization with a 1.98 ERA. Cowart last recorded a win on the road at Greenville working 5.1 innings and allowing three unearned runs. Cowart is 3-1 with a 1.03 ERA in four starts at his home park. The right-hander last won at home on April 26 working six shutout innings against the Drive.

The Grasshoppers send right-hander Derell McCall to hill as Greensboro looks for its second straight win. McCall is making his 10th start and 12th appearance of the season for Greensboro. McCall is coming off a loss to the Asheville Tourists at home where he worked season high seven innings and allowed two runs on four hits. McCall last won on April 25 at home against Hickory, allowing three runs, one earned on eight hits over five innings. McCall is 0-3 on the road with a 5.67 ERA over six games and five starts
