Traverse City Beach Bums News Release
TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. - The Traverse City Beach Bums are excited to announce a special partnership with Traverse Bay Marine to bring the newest addition to Wuerfel Park for home games in 2007.
Situated on the asphalt path behind the grass in right field, fans will find three pontoon boats. The boats will become the Traverse Bay Marine Pontoon Boat Decks. For only $200 a night, up to six people can view a Beach Bums game from each boat. Each Traverse Bay Marine Pontoon Boat Deck will also receive a $50 gift card good for use on any of Wuerfel Park's concessions.
"The addition of the boat decks fits right in with the theme of the Beach Bums," Beach Bums CEO John Wuerfel said. "There are many things to do during the summer in a boat such as fishing, swimming, and tubing. Now, fans can also watch a baseball game on a boat."
Traverse Bay Marine is located directly across from the ballpark on US-31.
The Traverse Bay Marine Pontoon Boat Decks will debut as Wuerfel Park opens its gates for the first time on a Fireworks Friday, May 25, 2007. The Kalamazoo Kings visit for a 7:05 pm contest. The Beach Bums will play a 96 game schedule with 51 home games at Wuerfel Park, named "Best minor league ballpark in Michigan" by AAA Living magazine.
