Wranglers Head To Idaho For Game Six Sunday Night

Las Vegas, NV- The Las Vegas Wranglers defeated the Idaho Steelheads 4-0 on Friday night in front of 3,727 fans at the Orleans Arena. The Wranglers now trail the best-of-seven series with Idaho 3-2. The Wranglers face elimination Sunday night in a must-win Game Six at Qwest Arena. Wranglers' forward Steve Crampton scored a goal and added an assist in the win. Goalie Kevin Nastiuk stopped all 36 shots he faced for his third playoff win. Wranglers' center Derek Edwardson added two assists for Las Vegas. Las Vegas killed all 11 Idaho power plays in the win. The Wranglers will travel to Boise, ID for Game Six of the National Conference Semi Finals on Sunday night at 6:10 pm at the Qwest Arena.

In the first period, Las Vegas scored first as Steve Crampton flipped the puck past Idaho goalie Steve Silverthorn at 7:51 to take a 1-0 lead. Wranglers' forward Shawn Limpright scored a power-play goal at 11:08 to give Las Vegas the 2-0 lead at the end of the first.

In the second period, the Idaho Steelheads pulled goaltender Steve Silverthorn on a delayed penalty, as the Steelheads set up with the extra-attacker, the puck was sent to the point and hopped over the stick of the Idaho defenseman Colin Peters, then carried all the way into the empty net for the Wranglers' goal. Las Vegas winger Marco Peluso was given credit for the goal bringing the Wranglers lead to 3-0.

In the third period, Adam Cracknell capped the scoring with a wrist shot past Steve Silverthorn for the final score of 4-0.
