New England Surge Count Down to Home Game Opener

Worcester, MA. ...The New England Surge of the Continental Indoor Football League, (CIFL), starts official count down to the inaugural home game on Saturday, April 14, 2007 at DCU Center in Worcester, MA. The football players will be practicing in preparation to their first home game. Practices take place on Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday from 7:30-10:00PM at New England's Ultimate Indoor Training Facility-Auburn Sportsplex LLC., on Route 20 in Auburn, MA. Practice is open to the media and the public, and everyone is encouraged to come and watch, get to know and support the New England Surge football players.

Head Coach Rick Buffington (Coach Buff) states, "These next few days are important days of practice for our team in preparation for our opening home game." Coach Buff continues, "We are all looking forward to having our fans join us for an action-packed, fun, high-energy night on Saturday...right in the heart of downtown Worcester."

The final roster consists of twenty-five talented and experienced athletes. Regular games consist of twenty-one football players dressing in uniform per game.

Roy Lucas, Jr., Founder and President of the Surge states, "We are dedicated to providing exciting, family oriented sports entertainment experience to the Worcester / MetroWest region this Saturday." The excitement starts with a block party that goes from 4-6PM on Major Taylor Blvd Plaza at the DCU. It includes an afternoon that promises to set the stage for the first home game later that night. It includes fun that caters to the youngest children, teenagers as well as for adults. Experience an afternoon filled with music, face painting, magicians, meeting Surgeo our mascot and much more. "Everyone is invited. We won't let you down," continues Lucas. "Tickets will also be available for purchase that day if you haven't had a chance to pick them up." The doors open to the arena at 6:00PM with game time at 7:00PM.
