
All-Star Kelly Finishes as CHL's Top Goal Scorer

PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. - The Arizona Sundogs Hockey Club, preparing for its first-ever post-season in just its first season of play, today announced that All-Star forward Brent Kelly has finished as the Central Hockey League's top goal scorer for the 2006-07 regular season with 42 goals.
Entering Saturday night's regular season finale between the Sundogs and Colorado Eagles, Kelly and the Eagles' Riley Nelson were tied with 41 goals apiece. Kelly collected his 42nd goal of the season, a shorthanded marker just 38 seconds into the game's second period. Nelson would be held scoreless giving Kelly the title.
In 55 games with the Sundogs, the Kitchener, Ontario native tallied a career-high 95 points (42g/53a) with 29 penalty minutes for a plus-13 rating. Of his 95 points this season, 43 came on the power play (15g/28a). The 25-year-old's four shorthanded and six game-winning goals ranked first on his club.
Kelly spent time in the American Hockey League this season with Arizona's AHL affiliate, the Albany River Rats. In seven games with Albany he notched one goal, one assist and six penalty minutes.
