International Teams Coming to Pizza Hut Park This Week

CURITIBA, Brazil (Sunday, March 25, 2007) - Pizza Hut Park will welcome teams traveling from all over the world this week to the mega-soccer complex in Frisco. Games played on the stadium field on Wed., March 28, Sat. March 31, and from April 1-April 8 will involve national teams and high-profile club teams from the United States, England, Brazil, Spain, Mexico, Germany, Japan, Holland, Ireland, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Guatemala and Haiti.

March 28: U.S. MNT vs Guatemala MNT (8 p.m.)
March 30: FC Dallas Reserves vs. Haiti U-20 (10 am)
March 31: FC Dallas vs. Atletico Paranaense (7:30 p.m.)
April 1-8 - Dr Pepper Dallas Cup
April 1: Real Madrid U-19 vs. Solar SC U-19 (3 p.m.) - Dallas Cup
April 1: Chelsea FC U-19 vs. Chivas Guadalajara U-19 (7 p.m.) - Dallas Cup
The fun begins on Wed., March 28 with a double-header involving two U.S. National teams. In the first game, the U.S. Under-20 Men's National Team, which includes FCD midfielder Anthony Wallace and Real Salt Lake midfielder Freddy Adu, will play the Haiti U-20 National Team (time / field / availability still to be determined). That game will be followed by the U.S. Men's national team match versus Guatamala at 8 p.m. (Live on ESPN2 and Galavision).
The U.S. roster, which defeated Ecuador 3-1 on Sunday afternoon in Tampa behind three goals from Los Angeles Galaxy forward Landon Donovan, includes 12 players currently playing professionally in Europe and 11 MLS players - including FC Dallas forward Kenny Cooper. Guatemala is lead by Cooper's FCD teammate Carlos Ruiz, who has scored 34 goals in 68 games played for his country. For more on the U.S. team, please visit www.ussoccer.com.
FC Dallas gets in on the action later in the week, with the Reserve team playing the Haitian U-20 team on Fri., March 30 at 10 a.m. on the adidas field at Pizza Hut Park. Then, on Sat., March 31, FC Dallas will host Brazilian-partner Atletico Paranaense in the return-leg of the USA-Brazil Challenge (7:30 p.m.). Paranaense holds a 3-1 advantage in the aggregate-goal series, having won the first game on March 7 at Kyocera Arena in Curitiba, Brazil. Visit www.fcdallas.net for more information.
The Dr Pepper Dallas Cup XXVIII kicks off at Pizza Hut Park on Sun., April 1 - with teams from Brazil, England, Germany, Mexico, Spain, South Africa, the Netherlands, Ireland, Japan, Costa Rica, Canada, Bermuda, and El Salvador set to compete alongside the best U.S. Youth teams. The Super Group (U-19) division opening games take place on April 1 - Real Madrid (Spain) vs. local-club Solar SC and Chelsea FC (England) vs. Chivas Guadalajara (Mexico). FC Dallas returned home on Sunday night after spending the past five days in Puerto Rico, where the team split a pair of preseason games versus United Soccer League opponents. On March 23, FCD fell 1-0 to the home-side Puerto Rico Islanders; then on March 24, Dallas defeated the Rochester Rhinos 2-0 behind goals from Juan Carlos Toja and Arturo Alvarez.
