Early runs give Pawtucket 4-2 win over Tribe

FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Designated hitter Eric Crozier roped a two-run double in the first inning to help Pawtucket score a 4-2 victory over Indianapolis Monday afternoon at the Red Sox Minor League Complex.

Crozier's only base knock of the afternoon, which came after a successful double steal, plated SS Ed Rogers and 1B Luis Jimenez. Pawtucket added an insurance run in the seventh.

Both Tribe scores came compliments of the long ball. C Carlos Maldonado belted a solo roundtripper to left in the seventh, while 1B Carlos Ruiz smashed a solo dinger to left center in the ninth.

PawSox RHP David Pauley (3.0 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 6 SO) worked the middle innings for the win, while Indians RHP John Van Benschoten (3.0 IP, 6 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 2 BB, 6 SO) started and was tagged with the loss. Pawtucket RHP Barry Hertzler (1.0 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 ER) tossed the final frame for the save.

NOTE: OF Chris Aguila, RHP Jesse Chavez, INF Mike Edwards and INF Nick Green were re-assigned to Minor League camp on Monday morning, while RHP Brian Rogers was optioned to Indianapolis.
