City Islanders Announce Training Camp and Pre-Season Schedule

(Harrisburg, PA, March 5, 2007) - The Harrisburg City Islanders will open their fourth annual training camp on Monday, March 19, and commence their six-game preseason schedule on Wednesday, March 21, it was announced today.
The City Islanders will also hold a two-day open tryout on Saturday, March 10, and Sunday, March 11. Both the open tryout and training camp will be held at the "In The Net" Sports Complex in Palmyra, the club's official training facility. Trialists will showcase their talents on Saturday from 6:00am-9:00am and will be joined by veteran Islanders on Sunday from 7:30-10:30am. Both days are open to the public.
Harrisburg's four preseason home events will be held at Hersheypark Stadium, beginning when St. Francis University visits on March 21. The City Islanders will also play host to Bucknell University (March 28) and Lehigh University (March 31). The City Islanders lone road game will be on April 4 at Crystal Palace Baltimore (USL2). The preseason will conclude with the City Islanders hosting a " mini tournament" on Arpil 14 which will also include Penn State University, Towson University and Crystal Palace Baltimore.
"This preseason schedule will provide us with a great opportunity to both evaluate players and prepare for the regular season," said City Islanders Head Coach Bill Becher.
The City Islanders begin their fourth season of play in the United Soccer Leagues Second Division against the Wilmington Hammerheads on Saturday April 21, 2007 at Skyline Sports Complex on City Island.

The Islanders are looking to rebound from a disappointing 2006 campaign which resulted in a 8-9-3 record. The City Islanders play in the United Soccer Leagues Second Division competing against squads in Baltimore (new), Bermuda (new), Charlotte (NC), Cincinnati, Cleveland (new), New Hampshire, Richmond (VA.), Western Mass, and Wilmington (NC).
