Kings Activate Petiot, Assign To Manchester

MANCHESTER, NH - The Los Angeles Kings, the parent club of the Manchester Monarchs, have activated left wing Raitis Ivanans from the injured reserve list, and have activated defenseman Richard Petiot and have assigned him to Manchester, Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombardi announced.

Ivanans, 28, has five points (2-3=5) and a team-leading 93 penalty minutes in 47 games with the Kings this season. He has missed the last two games due to an arm injury. The 6-foot-3, 263-pound native of Riga, Latvia, has played in 53 career regular season NHL games with the Kings and Montreal, and has five points (2-3=5) and 102 penalty minutes.

Petiot, 24, has not played a game this season after suffering a knee injury during the 2006 Rookie Tournament. He was placed on the injured reserve list on October 3, 2006. The 6-foot-2, 190-pound native of Daysland, Alberta, has played in two career NHL regular season games (both with the Kings) and has zero points and two penalty minutes. He was originally selected by the Kings in the fourth-round (116th overall) in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft.
