March 1, 2007 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Houston Aeros News Release

HOUSTON, Texas - Defenseman Peter Ratchuck has been re-assigned from the American Hockey League's Houston Aeros to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. The Aeros have also announced that the National Hockey League's Minnesota Wild has recalled goaltender Miroslav Kopriva. In turn, the Aeros have recalled goaltender Tony Quesada from Austin of the Central Hockey League. The Aeros have also loaned center Alex Leavitt to AHL San Antonio.

"With our 22 man Clear Day roster due today and an extra AHL veteran on our roster, we had a tough decision to make, and we realized we had the most depth at defense," said Minnesota Wild assistant general manager/Houston Aeros general manager Tom Lynn. "We re-assigned Peter to a team with a need for an offensive defenseman, while at the same time benefiting the development of our own younger defense by giving them more opportunity for ice time and a greater role."

Ratchuk, 29 (9/10/77), posted 21 points (5-16=21) and 74 penalty minutes while playing in 50 games with the Aeros. Ratchuk spent the 2001-02 season with the Baby Penguins, totaling 39 points (16-23=39) in 75 games.

Kopriva, 23 (12/5/83), is 2-2-1 with a 3.03 gaa and a .915 save pct. with the Aeros this season, while accumulating an 8-1-2 mark with a 2.89 gaa and a .902 save pct. with the ECHL's Texas Wildcatters. Kopriva went 6-4-1 with a 3.51 gaa and a .890 save pct. for the Aeros in 2005-06 and backed up Manny Fernandez in the Wild's season finale in Dallas on April 15.

Quesada, 24 (11/7/82), sports an 0-4-0 record with a 4.62 gaa and a .881 save pct. in five games with the Aeros this season. He is also 2-6-3 with a 2.82 gaa and a .914 save pct. in 11 games for Austin, and 0-1-0 with a 9.00 gaa and a .769 save pct. in one period of action for ECHL Texas.

Leavitt, 23 (1/31/84), posted 11 points (2-9=11) in 23 games for the Aeros this season. He had 24 points (10-14=24) in 30 games with ECHL Texas.
