Kings Recall Stephenson

MANCHESTER, NH - The Los Angeles Kings, the parent club of the Manchester Monarchs, have recalled forward Shay Stephenson (under emergency conditions) from the Monarchs, Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombardi announced today. In addition, the Monarchs recalled left wing Dany Roussin from the ECHL's Reading Royals, Monarchs Director of Hockey Operations Hubie McDonough announced today.

Stephenson, 23, has 14 points (7-7=14), one power play goal, 51 penalty minutes and a plus-1 rating in 40 games with the Monarchs this season. The 6-foot-4, 200-pound native of Outlook, Saskatchewan, was selected by Carolina in the seventh-round (198th overall) in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft and was originally selected by Edmonton in the ninth-round (278th overall) in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft. Stephenson, who has not played in the NHL, will wear jersey No. 22 with the Kings.

Roussin, 22, has played in nine games with the Monarchs this season collecting four points (2-2=4) and four penalty minutes. In 42 games with the Royals, the 6-foot-2, 200-pound native of Quebec City, Quebec, has 22 points (6-16=22) and 20 penalty minutes. Roussin appeared in 29 Monarchs games during his rookie season, 2005-06, and registered six points (4-2=6) and 24 penalty minutes.
