Chicago Wolves News Release

The Atlanta Thrashers have traded right wing ALEX BOURRET to the New York Rangers in exchange for forward Pascal Dupuis and a third-round selection in the 2007 National Hockey League Entry Draft.

BOURRET, Atlanta's first pick, 16th overall, in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft, has collected 21 assists and 32 points in 45 outings with the Chicago Wolves during his professional debut this season.

The 20-year-old forward posted seven multiple-point outings with Chicago, which includes a professional career-high three points on three occasions during the month of December. His 32 points rank 23rd among American Hockey League rookies and eighth overall on the Wolves this year.

Last year, BOURRET registered career-highs with 70 assists and 114 points in 67 games with the Shawnigan Cataractes of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. The Drummondville, Quebec, native, who was named to the 2005-06 QMJHL Second All-Star Team, shared eighth in the league with a career-best 23 power-play markers and 44 goals.
