Cumiskey called up to Colorado

ALBANY, NY - The Albany River Rats announced today that defenseman Kyle Cumiskey has been recalled by the Colorado Avalanche. He replaces Karlis Skrastins on the Avalanche roster. Skrastins will miss seven to 10 days with a knee sprain suffered during the third period of this past Saturday's game in Los Angeles.

Cumiskey has appeared in 39 games with the River Rats this season, recording five goals and 18 assists with 18 penalty minutes. He has one goal and one assist in nine games with Colorado this season.

The River Rats complete a three-game home stand Wednesday, February 28 against the 2006 Calder Cup champion Hershey Bears at 7 p.m. at the Times Union Center.
