Pensacola Ice Pilots News Release

PENSACOLA, FL - The Pensacola Ice Pilots of the ECHL announced today (Wednesday) they have completed a trade with the Cincinnati Cyclones.

The Ice Pilots sent forwards Mike Wirll and Travis Lisabeth to the Cyclones in exchange for forwards Torry Gajda (pronounced Guy-da), Erik Johnson, defenseman Jarred Mohr and future considerations. In a separate transaction, the Bridgeport Sound Tigers have reassigned defenseman Jason Goulet to the Cyclones.

"We went looking for a group of young, hard-working players .... someone we can finish this year strong with, as well as build on for next season," Ice Pilots Head Coach Joe Clark said. "Cincinnati has had a successful season, and all three players have had a hand in that."

Torry Gadja (Guyda) was very familiar to the Ice Pilots after scoring the game winning goal on opening night for the Cyclones. In 33 games, the Westfield, Mass native has 8 goals and 17 assists for 25 points. He is a plus 4 and has two power play goals and two shorthanded.

Gadja spent four years at Providence College where in his senior year he led the Friars in scoring.

Erik Johnson, a native of Coon Rapids Minnesota, appeared in 26 games for the Cyclones, where he had three goals and three assists for six points. He missed time earlier in the season due to an injury.

Also on his way to the Gulf Coast is defenseman Jarred Mohr who picked up five goals and seven assists for 12 points in 44 games this season. The Regina, Saskatchewan native is plus five and has 38 penalty minutes.

In exchange the Ice Pilots sent forwards Travis Lisabeth and Mike Wirll who have combined for 67 points (34 goals and 33 assists) since arriving in Pensacola in November.

Jason Goulet had notched two goals and five assists for seven points and 101 penalty minutes.

Torry Gadja, Erik Johnson and Jarred Mohr are expected to be Pensacola on Thursday. All three players will be in the line-up for this weekend's games in Texas.

The Pensacola Ice Pilots resume their five game road trip on Friday when they face the Texas Wildcatters in the first of three consecutive games at Ford Arena. Fans can tune into the action on Classic Country AM1620 on Friday beginning with Ice Pilots Countdown to Face-off at 7:15 pm. The play-by-play follows with Denis J. Puska at 7:30 pm. Saturday's game faces off at 2 pm, but will be aired via tape delay beginning at 6:45 pm. The final game of the set will be played on Sunday afternoon at 2:05 pm and pre-game show coverage starts at 1:45 pm.
