'Dogs look to extend 10-game point streak this week

The Hamilton Bulldogs (American Hockey League affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens) will look to extend their season-high 10-game point streak with two games this week. Hamilton will host its North Division rival, the Toronto Marlies (AHL affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs), at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, February 16th at Copps Coliseum. Then on Sunday, February 18th, the Bulldogs will travel to the Giant Center in Hershey to take on the Bears (AHL affiliate of the Washington Capitals) at 5:00 p.m.

Last week, the 'Dogs registered a 3-0-1-0 record in four home games at Copps Coliseum. Hamilton opened its weekly schedule by picking up three of a possible four points in two games against the Chicago Wolves. The Bulldogs lost 4-3 to the Wolves in overtime on Wednesday, February 7th, and bounced back to beat Chicago 6-5 in overtime on Friday, February 9th. The 'Dogs followed that up with a 4-2 win over the Philadelphia Phantoms on Saturday, February 10th. Hamilton then wrapped up the week with a 9-5 win over the Rochester Americans on Sunday, February 11th.

With 66 points in 53 games this season (31-18-2-2), the Bulldogs currently sit in second place in the North Division standings, three points behind the first-place Rochester Americans (69 points in 51 games), and five points ahead of the third-place Manitoba Moose (61 points in 52 games).
