Lake Elsinore Storm News Release

Temecula, CA, January 30, 2007 - Local businesses were recently recognized for their economic and charitable contributions in 2006 at the 58th Annual Lake Elsinore Valley Chamber of Commerce Installation Dinner and Awards Ceremony. The Lake Elsinore Storm took home top honors at the Pechanga Casino and Resort as they were named the 2006 Large Business of the Year, edging out their neighboring competitors including Lowe's, Costco, and Wells Fargo Bank.

"We're proud to be recognized for our efforts and accomplishments during the past year, but this award is also an inspiration to exceed expectations in 2007. Our goal is always to be among the best run organizations not only in Minor League Baseball, but in the community as well," said Storm General Manager Chris Jones.

Chamber President/CEO Kim Cousins spoke highly of this year's winner. "The Lake Elsinore Storm has been an integral part of the community and a haven for family entertainment. In addition, the Storm organization has been a strong supporter of the Economic Workforce Development Luncheon programs each year. Without their support and participation we would not be able to offer these excellent programs to the business community," said Cousins.

To qualify for the Large Business of the Year Award, a business must employ at least 100 employees. Since the award's inception in 1998, this marks the first year the Storm has earned such honors. Past winners include CR&R, Inc. (2000), Lake Elsinore Ford (2001), Castle & Cooke - Alberhill Ranch (2005), and two-time winner Lake Chevrolet (1999, 2004).

Prior to the award presentations, Jones was installed as a member of the 2007 Lake Elsinore Valley Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. Jones begins his second term on the board, having also served in 2006.

The Storm will begin their 14th season in franchise history, and seventh as a San Diego Padres affiliate, with Opening Night scheduled for April 12 at The Diamond. For season ticket information, contact the Storm ticket office at (951) 245-HITS or visit www.stormbaseball.com.
