Jacksonville Barracudas News Release

Jacksonville Barracudas forward Caleb Moffat was injured in a single-vehicle accident early Monday morning in Ponte Vedra.

According to published reports, Moffat was traveling along A1A at 4 a.m. when he lost control of his vehicle, left the road and collided with two poles. Moffat was airlifted to Shands Hospital in Jacksonville, where he is currently listed in critical condition.

"Early Monday morning a member of the Barracudas family was involved in a serious accident. On behalf of the entire Barracudas organization, I would like to express my deep concern for Caleb," said Barracudas President and General Manager Gilles Richard. "We are praying for his complete recovery, and would like to lend our support to Caleb's family in this difficult time. The medical team at Shands is second to none, and we are confident that he is receiving the best care possible."

"The organization will pass on additional updates as they are available."

There will be the opportunity for Barracudas fans to express their well wishes to Moffat at Friday night's game against the Pee Dee Cyclones. The Barracudas will have a Get-Well card at the Fan Relations Booth that fans will be able to sign. Due to Moffat being in intensive care, those who would like to send regards individually to Moffat are encouraged to send them to the Barracudas Hockey Club, at 1000 Water St., Jacksonville Florida, 32204. Items will be passed on to Moffat as allowed by the hospital.
