2007 Carolina Challenge Cup Tickets and Game Schedule Announced

Charleston, SC. The Charleston Battery will host the fourth annual Carolina Challenge Cup March 24 - 31 at Blackbaud Stadium, Daniel Island. This year's pre-season features the 2006 MLS Cup Champions the Houston Dynamo, MLS's New York Red Bulls and Toronto FC plus the USL First Division Charleston Battery. Tickets are on sale now priced at $15 - $25; discounts are available for series tickets (includes all 6 games) and for 2007 Charleston Battery season ticket holders. The potential tournament roster received a major boost this week as the New York Red Bulls agreed to terms with former US captain Claudio Reyna.

The New York Red Bulls became the second MLS club to utilize the new designated player rule, with the signing of Reyna who comes to MLS from Manchester City of the English Premier League.

Reyna is the fourth most capped player in US Men's national team history (112), he captained the USA at the 2002 and 2006 World Cups, helping the Stars & Stripes to an historic quarterfinal run in 2002. For his efforts in Korea, Reyna earned a spot on the FIFA World Cup All-Star First Team. He is the only U.S. player ever to have achieved that honor.

Tickets for the 2007 Carolina Challenge Cup are on sale now. Fans can purchase tickets for each doubleheader or for the six match series. Tickets for single doubleheaders (includes two games) are priced at $25 Club / Box & $15 bleacher.
