Dragones beat the powerful Slam

Tijuana Dragones, with a 3 point play by Gene Shipley with 18 seconds left in the game, beat the Red Conference leader, Belingham Slam, 98-95, giving Tony Farmer a win in his debut as player-coach.
The game was so close from the beginning and neither team took a double digit lead in the whole match.
With the victory, Dragones (4-8) broke their slump of five game losing streak, while the Slam (12-4) failed for the first time in their last eight games.
Mike Jones (22) and Gene Shipley (20) were the best scorers for Dragones, who had four players in double digit (Clifford Washingto, 16, and Raynardo Curry, 11). For the Slam, Michael Parker scores 37 points.
Entering the game, the Slam was ranket numer 3 in the ABA all power rankings.
Next game for Dragones will be at home against Gallup Outlaws (7-2), next thursday the 11th.
