Phoenix defeats Grizzlies 4-3

Phoenix, Arizona - The Phoenix Roadrunners earned their sixth consecutive home win, defeating the Grizzlies 4-3.
Brett Smith led off the scoring with a powerplay goal at 15:59 for the Roadrunners. The Grizzlies came back less than one minute later. Andy Sertich sent the puck down low where Cook and Craig worked it to Ryan Kinasewich for his seventh goal of the season, tying the game at one. The line of Cook, Craig, and Kinasewich struck again later in the first when Matt Craig put one in the net to give the Grizzlies a 2-1 lead. Sean Fields made 12 saves on 13 shots in the frame.
Phoenix jumped out early to tie the game 2-2 on a Cam Paddock goal, and then again with a 5 on 3 powerplay goal by Brock Hooton to take the lead. The goal was Hooton's first as a professional. Travis Rycroft scored to tie the game, but the goal was disallowed, as the officials claimed the puck was kicked.
Early in the third, Rycroft went to work again, this time the goal counted as the Grizzlies converted on their sixth powerplay opportunity of the night. The goal earned Danny Stewart his first professional point on the assist. The game stayed tied until Jeff Kyrzakos beat Fields with the game winner, a short-handed goal. The Roadrunners held on to win the game 4-3 as they outshot the Grizzlies 44-36 in the game..
Utah plays Phoenix once again Thursday at US Airways Center. Face-off is scheduled for 7:11 p.m.
The Grizzlies return to the E-Center Wednesday, December 13 hosting Idaho. Face-off is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
