Pensacola Ice Pilots News Release

PENSACOLA, FL - The Pensacola Ice Pilots of the ECHL have made their second trade in a week today, sending forwards Derek and Jordan Krestanovich to the Victoria Salmon Kings for forwards David Wrigley and Adam Taylor.

"We are continuing to build our hockey club in a positive direction, and although we gave up two very skilled hockey players, we feel the addition of Taylor and Wrigley makes us a stronger team," said Director of Player Personnel George Dupont. "Taylor lead Victoria in scoring last season and is regarded by many as a top face-off man. Wrigley is explosive and has the ability to score goals. Both of these players make us a better team and bring attributes that this team needs to be successful."

For the Krestanovich brothers, from British Columbia Canada, it's an opportunity to play close to home in Victoria on Vancouver Island. Derek had three goals and eight assists for 11 points in 14 games, while Jordan netted three goals and five assists for eight points in 14 games.

In return, the Ice Pilots get a couple of blue chip players who have proven in the past they can put up high point totals. Wrigley has 10 points (3 goals and 7 assists) in 15 games. The Washago, Ontario native had 84 points (42 goals and 42 assists) in 76 games as a rookie with the Muskegon Fury of the United Hockey League. Wrigley had a solid collegiate career with the Mercyhurst Lakers in Erie, PA where he had some solid numbers scoring more than 15 goals in three of his four seasons.

Adam Taylor had six points in 15 games for the Salmon Kings this season after a solid rookie season where he picked up 19 goals and 38 assists for 57 points. The Campbell River, British Columbia native had a solid junior career with the Kootaney Ice of the Western Hockey League where he accumulated more than 40 points in three of the five seasons he was there.

Neither player will be available for tonight's game against the Augusta Lynx, but are expected to be in the line-up later this week.
