Fiala Scores Two Goals in Win

The Everett Silvertips came out on top of the Seattle Thunderbirds by a final score of 2-1 after a shoot out. The Silvertips move up to 20-2-0-1 and 41 points, first in the US Division. Seattle is now tied for third place in the US Division with a 10-6-1-6 history and 27 points.

Ondrej Fiala scored both goals for Everett in tonight's win. His first goal came at 9:38 of the third period, while the Silvertips were on a power play. This was his second goal of the season. Jason Fransoo and Peter Mueller earned the assists. Fiala scored the game winner at the bottom of the 7th round of the shoot out. This was the longest shoot out in franchise history.

Seattle's lone goal came from Bud Holloway early in the second period, while the Thunderbirds were on a power play. Aaron Gagnon tallied the lone helper.

David Reekie, making 22 saves on 23 shots, moves up to 6-3. He is a perfect 5-0 in a Silvertip uniform. Derek Yeomans, the Thunderbirds' netminder, stopped 36 shots of 37 but drops his goaltending statistics to 8-4-1-4. Both teams scored one power play goal a piece with Everett having 9 chances and Seattle having 7. The Silvertips out shot Seattle 38 to 23 during the hockey game.

Tomorrow night the Everett Silvertips will host the visiting Tri-City Americans. The puck drops at 7:05pm.
