Colorado Crush add four more to roster

DENVER - The Colorado Crush announced today the signing four free agents, brining their current roster to 28 players. The Crush have signed one-year veteran kicker Jason Ball and rookie free agents: defensive back Bobby Antee, offensive lineman Joey Hollenbeck and wide receiver Jim Lukowaik. Terms of the contracts were not disclosed.

Arena Football League rules state that teams may bring up to 37 players into training camp. Players will then compete all vying for 24 regular season roster spots.

ANTEE (6-0, 215, Lambuth) was named the Mid-South Conference West Division Defensive Co-MVP and was a First Team Defense selection as a senior in 2005. He also garnered 2005 NAIA.org Second Team All-American honors as a safety. A playmaker on both defense and special teams, he finished his collegiate career with 211 tackles, 11 interceptions and 12 kickoff returns for 347 yards.

BALL (5-9, 185, North Texas) returns to the Crush having played in two games with the team last season. He later would sign with Nashville and appeared in three games for the Kats in 2006. On the year with both teams, he went 5-for-7 on field goals and 24-for-30 on PATs. Ball spent two seasons in af2 playing with Oklahoma City and Bossier-Shreveport, earning All-af2 Second Team honors in 2004.

HOLLENBECK (6-4, 281, Washington State) played guard during his four-year stint in the NFL with the St. Louis Rams, Buffalo Bills and Seattle Seahawks. During his career at Washington State, saw action in 33 games playing multiple positions on both the offensive and defensive lines.

LUKOWAIK (6-1, 200, Southern Connecticut State) set or tied eight school or conference records as a senior, helping lead the Owls to their first NCAA Division II playoff berth in school history in 2005. He closed out a brilliant collegiate career being named the 2005 Boston Globe Gold Helmet Award recipient, awarded annually by the New England Football Writers to the most outstanding Division II/III player in New England. He also captured 2005 Northeast-10 Conference Offensive Player of the Year honors.

The Colorado Crush concluded the 2006 season capturing their second consecutive Central Division title and finished the regular season with a team-best tying 11-5 record.
