Thunder Announces 2006-07 Exhibition Schedule

STOCKTON, Calif. - The Stockton Thunder has announced a three-game exhibition schedule against the Pacific Division Rivals Bakersfield Condors and Fresno Falcons, including a two-game, "home-and-home" series against the Falcons on October 13 and 15.
The Thunder opens its 2006-07 pre-season schedule on Tuesday, October 10, with a 2:00 p.m. road game against the Bakersfield Condors at Rabobank Arena. Stockton follows by traveling to Fresno on October 13, for a 7:30 p.m. PT game against the Falcons at Gateway Ice Center, the Falcons practice facility. Both teams will meet again for an exhibition re-match in Stockton on October 15, beginning at 4:00 p.m. PT at Stockton Arena.
Individual tickets for the Sunday, October 15 home game against Fresno can be purchased in-person at the Stockton Arena Ticket Office or by visiting www.stocktontickets.com, while season ticket holders can also call the Thunder offices at (209) 373-1500. Tickets are available at a $5 rate for season ticket holders in advance prior to October 15, and $10 for the general public. The game will feature an "open-seating" setting for all fans in attendance.
The Falcons, located as the Thunder's closest geographical rival, clinched the 2005-06 Pacific Division title with a 43-15-14 record (100 points) and advanced to the National Conference Finals, falling in seven games to the eventual Kelly Cup Champion Alaska Aces. The Thunder defeated Fresno in the two teams' most recent clash, a 2-1 overtime win on April 2, 2006.
The Thunder and Falcons will meet eight times during the 2006-07 regular season, beginning Friday, December 22 at Save Mart Center. The first Stockton Arena matchup between both teams will take place Wednesday, December 27 at 7:00 p.m. PT.
The Thunder begins the 2006-07 ECHL regular season on Friday, October 20 on the road against the Condors at 7:00 p.m. PT, whom Stockton will face eight times during the 2006-07 season. Last season, Bakersfield advanced to the National Conference Division Final round while finishing the regular season with a 40-26-6 record (86 points). The Thunder tallied a 1-3-4 season record against the Condors in 2005-06.

The Thunder opens pre-season training camp on Friday, October 6 at Stockton Arena and faces the Long Beach Ice Dogs on Saturday, October 28 at 7:30 p.m. PT in the home opener at Stockton Arena.
An ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League's Edmonton Oilers, the Thunder drew 228,364 fans to Stockton Arena in its inaugural season, the ECHL's best attendance mark for 2005-06.
