The Everett Silvertips concluded the 3rd Annual Everett Silvertips Pre-Season Tournament with a 1-2 record but the Everett Events Center was definitely a festive atmosphere over the Labor Day Weekend as over 10,000 hockey fans attended the three day event. The Silvertips will continue preparing for the 2006-2007 season with a pair of pre-season games in Kennewick, WA this weekend.

SILVERTIPS BACK IN ACTION AT TRI-CITY PRE-SEASON TOURNAMENT

The Everett Silvertips will participate in the Tri-City Americans Tournament on Saturday, September 9 and Sunday, September 10 at the Toyota Center in Kennewick, WA. On Saturday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. the Silvertips will battle their US Division rival, Portland Winter Hawks in pre-season action. Everett will face off against the tournament hosts, Tri-City Americans on Sunday night at 5:00 p.m. For Silvertip fans who want to attend the pre-season event in Kennewick, WA log onto www.amshockey.com or call the Americans office at (509) 736-0606 for tickets.

EVERETT SILVERTIPS PRE-SEASON SCORING LEADERS

Silvertips forward Shane Harper (1 goal, 2 assists) and defenseman Zach Sim (1 goal, 2 assists) currently lead the Silvertips in pre-season scoring with 3 points. Brandon Campos (2 goals), Joel Eisenkirch (2 goals) and Moises Gutierrez (1 goal, 1 assist) are currently tied for 2nd on the team in pre-season scoring with 2 points. The Silvertips are currently 7 for 37 (18.9%) on the power play in three pre-season games.

FIVE SILVERTIPS GOING CAMPING WITH NHL TEAMS

Five players from the Everett Silvertips will be attending NHL Rookie Camps in September. Silvertips forward Peter Mueller the Phoenix Coyotes 1st round (8th overall) draft pick in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft will suit up with the rest of the Coyotes top prospects at the Pacific Division Shootout in Los Angeles, CA from September 8 to September 12. Silvertips defenseman Graham Potuer will also attend the event as a member of the San Jose Sharks top prospects. After the NHL Draft, Potuer was invited by the Sharks to take part in this year's rookie camp event.

Goaltender Leland Irving the Calgary Flames 1st round (26th overall) selection in the 2006 NHL Draft will travel to Calgary, AB to participate at the Calgary Flames Rookie Camp at the Pengrowth Saddledome on September 7. Forward Brady Calla, the Florida Panthers 3rd round (73rd overall) selection in the 2006 NHL Draft, will travel to Toronto, ON with the rest of the Panther prospects to take part in a rookie tournament from September 8 to September 12. Moises Gutierrez, the Pittsburgh Penguins 6th round (164th overall) selection in the 2004 NHL Draft will attend Penguins Rookie Camp at Mellon Arena in Pittsburgh, PA from September 7 to September 12. Silvertips forward Ondrej Fiala the Minnesota Wild 2nd round (40th overall) draft pick in the 2006 NHL Draft is currently recovering from an injury and will not attend the Wild Rookie Camp.

Overall 11 current or former Everett Silvertips have attended NHL rookie or main training camps.

Box Office hours are Monday-Friday 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The Everett Silvertips will hold their 2006-2007 home opening weekend on Friday, September 29 and Saturday, September 30. The Silvertips will battle the Kelowna Rockets at the Everett Events Center on Friday, September 29 at 7:35 p.m. On Saturday, September 30, the Kamloops Blazers will challenge the Silvertips at the E.E.C at 7:05 p.m.
