JackHammers game canceled on Tuesday

August 29, 2006 - Northern League (NL) - Joliet JackHammers News Release


JOLIET, IL-The Joliet JackHammers game against the Kansas City T-Bones on Tuesday night was canceled due to heavy rain. The two teams will play a doubleheader Wednesday, August 30 at 6:05 p.m.

The JackHammers Rain Policy is that tickets may be exchanged at the Silver Cross Field box office for any remaining 2006 regular season home game for tickets of equal or lesser value based upon availability.

The JackHammers will send Eddie Oropesa (1-0, 6.10) to the hill in game one of the doubleheader against Kansas City's Jonathan Krysa (13-3, 3.54). Joliet sends Matt Smith (4-4, 5.54) to the mound in game two against Hank Woodman (4-4, 5.32) from the T-Bones. Pre-game coverage starts at 5:50. The play-by-play begins at 6:05 on 1340 WJOL and online at www.jackhammerbaseball.com.

Loose Gravel: The JackHammers will honor former pitcher Jon Hooker with a moment of silence before the game on Wednesday. Hooker passed away on Sunday in the Comair Flight 5191 crash outside Lexington, Kentucky.
