Great Falls Voyagers News Release

SLUMPING SOX: The White Sox have lost a season high seven consecutive games after being blanked by Missoula last night 3-0. It was Great Falls 3rd shut-out setback of the season as it was held to a season-low two hits by the pitching tandem of Osbek Castillo and Hector Ambriz for the Osprey. The Sox have been outscored 49-17 in this skid and haven't won since dumping Billings 10-3 on August 8. During the losing streak the White Sox, who are the Pioneer League's third best hitting team, have averaged just 2.5 runs per game. Great Falls has fallen seven games off the pace of Pioneer League Northern Division front-running Billlings with a league-worst 4-13 second half record. They open a seven game home stand tonight against Ogden, getting their first look at Utah's squads over the next week as Orem will pay Centene Stadium a visit Sunday-Tuesday, August 20-22.

SANTILEZ RETURNS: 19 year old RHP Clevelan Santilez returns to the rotation tonight after missing his last start due to illness. Santilez is 1-4 on the season with an ERA of 5.36. The Venezuelan native allowed three earned runs in five innings of work in his last start August 6 vs. Billings striking out six, while walking four. He suffered the loss in an 8-4 setback to the Mustangs. Santilez has yielded three or more earned runs in four of his nine previous starts. He's accustomed to pitching at home as seven of his nine appearances have come at Centene Stadium. Clevelan began the season with Class A Kannapolis of the South Atlantic League, posting an 0-2 record with an earned run average of 6.85.

Defensively, the club sits last in fielding percentage (.947), first in errors (117) and also first in double plays turned (67) after six twin killings in last night's loss to Missoula.
