"Survivor" celebrities to appear at Waterfront Park

(Trenton, NJ)- The Trenton Thunder, the Double-A Affiliate of the New York Yankees, have announced that on Thursday, August 10 "Survivor" contestants Terry Deitz and Stephanie LaGrossa are scheduled to appear at Mercer County Waterfront Park as the Thunder welcome the Binghamton Mets, the Double-A Affiliate of the New York Mets.
The two are slated to throw out the first pitches of the ballgame, participate in various on-field events, and sign autographs.
LaGrossa, a native of Glenolden, Pennsylvania and a graduate of Monmouth University, is a two time survivor contestant on "Survivor: Palua" and "Survivor: Guatemala", in which she was the runner-up. She quickly became a fan favorite because of her endurance, tenacity, and overall amazing attitude.
Deitz, a native of Matawan, New Jersey and a retired Navy Fighter Pilot, was a popular contestant on "Survivor: Panama". He was noted for dominating the challenges and being only the second contestant in the show's history to win an unbroken string of five immunity challenges.
"As you can see we watch a lot of reality TV in the off-season - and we love these guys" said Thunder General Manager Brad Taylor, "We're happy to give our fans the chance to meet Stephanie and Terry."
"Survivor" is the popular CBS reality-based television show were contestants are dropped off on secluded locations throughout the world with a lack of provisions were they then struggle to compete and survive against the elements as well as fellow teammates and adversaries.
The game is scheduled to start at 7:05 PM with a post game fireworks show to follow the conclusion of the game sponsored by The Intelligencer.
The Thunder will be hosting three more special guests throughout rest of the season. Tonight and tomorrow at 7:05 the Thunder will welcome the Mayberry Deputy. They will bring back memories of the Andy Griffith Show.
August 4 will bring the Blue Brothers to Mercer County Waterfront Park. Their act includes live Blues Brothers music and the identical replica of the original Blues Brothers car.
Finally, August 20 will feature the Amazing Rubberboy appearing at Waterfront Park. The Rubberboy is an actor, entertainer, and contortionist. He is known the world over as the most flexible man alive.
