New Mexico Scorpions News Release
[RIO RANCHO, N.M.]- The New Mexico Scorpions, proud member of the Central Hockey League (CHL), continue to count down the days until they open the Santa Ana Star Center. This week more exciting photos have been posted at www.scorpionshockey.com as the arena comes along at a rapid pace.
The ice floor is taking shape and soon the chiller will be connected to the building. For hockey fans this is one of the truest signs that the hockey drought is almost over.
Season ticket holders can even see the seating bowl and picture their view of the Scorpions beating the competition. Come this October, anyone attending a Scorpions game will have a great view of the ice surface no matter where they sit. No more posts or pillars obstructing the view.
The outside of the arena is nearing completion as well. The brick has been put on the building and the roof has been installed. Visitors to the construction site can also drive on paved roads and see the curbs for the additional roads and parking lots that will surround the state-of-the-art Santa Ana Star Center.
To get your personal view of the Santa Ana Star Center sign up for a free 90-minute tour on either Saturday August 12 or September 9. Three tours will be given at 10 am, 12 pm and 2 pm. Reservations are required for the tours. There are two ways to make reservations for this exciting chance to see the progress of the Scorps' new home. Visit the building's website at www.santaanastarcenter.com or call Vickie DuFault at 505-962-0700.
