Indiana Fever News Release

NEWS & NOTES

- The Fever start the coming week locked in a virtual three-way tie for first place in the Eastern Conference. Indiana is the only team in the East with eight wins. But, Connecticut and Washington are 7-3 and mere percentage points ahead of the Fever.

- Indiana's win against the Sting, June 18, was its fifth straight home win this season and its seventh straight regular-season home win, overall. That is the third longest home winning streak in Fever history.

- While posting the 40th double-double of her WNBA career, Tamika Catchings added a season-high six assists and blocked a career-high five shots, tying the Fever record for blocks in a single game. Catchings enters this week fifth in the WNBA in blocks with an average of 1.40 blocks per game.

- Tamika Whitmore led the Fever with a career-high 29 points against Charlotte, June 18. In that game, she shot 8-8 from the foul line, extending her free throw streak to 19 in a row.

- The Fever's 80-78 win at New York, June 13, was its first game decided by three points or less in 2006.

- Despite playing five extra minutes, the Liberty had just five offensive rebounds against the Fever, June 13, tying the fewest by a Fever opponent this season.

- The Fever had 18 turnovers against the Sting, one short of their high this season. But, the Fever ranks third in the WNBA and leads the Eastern Conference with an average of just 15.2 turnovers per game.

- Including its win against Charlotte, June 18, the Fever is 3-1 this season when shooting at least 45 percent from the field. Against the Sting, Indiana shot 33-70 FG (.471).

- Tickets for all Fever home games can be purchased at the Conseco Fieldhouse Box Office, all Ticketmaster outlets, the Internet (Ticketmaster.com or FeverBasketball.com) or by phone at 1 (800) WNBA-TIX, in addition to select state-wide Marsh stores and Home Court II in Circle Centre Mall.
