Bulls swept in double header

Durham, NC - Dominating pitching from the Buffalo Bisons held the Bulls to just three hits in two games as the Bisons swept the Durham Bulls, 3-0 and 4-0 in a double header at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park on Thursday.
Buffalo got home runs in the fourth and fifth innings of game one from 1B Ryan Garko and 2B Lou Merloni respectively, then plated an insurance run in the seventh for the win in the opener. RHP Jeremy Sowers improved to 8-1 allowing two hits and three walks while striking out two. RHP Jason Hammel (3-5) pitched a complete game for the loss, allowing three runs on four hits.
In game two, Buffalo got a pair in the second inning on Andy Marte's 7th home run of the season and another deuce in the sixth inning on Jeremy Cooper's two-run triple. RHP Bear Bay (1-0) made his Triple-A debut by allowing only one hit in five innings of work. RHP Brian Stokes (3-4) took the loss for Durham.
