Long Island Ducks News Release

(Central Islip, N.Y., May 12, 2006) - The Long Island Ducks, members of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball, today announced that they have agreed to terms with former Major League left-handed pitcher Damian Moss to a contract for the 2006 season. The signing brings the number of former major leaguers on the Ducks 2006 roster to 12, seven of whom are on the pitching staff.

"We had a void to fill when Nelson (Figueroa) was signed," says Ducks general manager Michael Hirsch. "We're excited to fill our opening in the rotation with a guy of Damian's caliber."

The Darlinghurst, Australia native is entering his 13th season of professional baseball in 2006. Moss enjoyed his finest season as a pro during the 2002 season with the Atlanta Braves. During that season, he posted a 12-6 record with a 3.42 ERA and 111 strikeouts in 33 games (29 starts). The 29-year old owns a career 22-19 MLB record with a 4.50 ERA in 74 games (61 starts) with the Braves, Giants, Orioles and Devil Rays. Last season with Tacoma (AAA, Mariners), he went 9-7 with a 3.73 ERA in 137.2 innings of work for the Rainiers.

The Long Island Ducks are in their seventh season of play in the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball. They have averaged over 100 percent attendance capacity of 6,002-seat Citibank Park in each of their first six seasons and are one of the most successful minor league sports franchises in the country.
